Re: 31 Screens For Each Day of The Month Slideshow
Why not use the slideshow functionality built into Windows? Just point the Windows backdrop preferences (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization) to a folder containing an appropriate number of images, maybe with a different folder for each month. To use the Windows slideshow feature, ...

Re: Win8 problem (hot corners block the plugin mouse events)
Win8 is no longer a "work in progress". It is extremely unlikely that the Windows 8 user interface will change from what's in the Release Preview. RTM is scheduled to be a couple of weeks from now, shipping to OEMs by the end of August. Public release is scheduled for October 26. See http:...

Some of the icons' positions on Desktop #1 were not what they should have been: - They were not in the positions they had when I previously exited from Dexpot. - They were not in the positions recorded in the most recent profile than I had saved. - They were not in the positions they had when Dexpot...

Dexpot beta 1.5.99, build 2075: icons scrambled when started
The update from the previous release to 2075 went smoothly. Dexpot had been shut down several days previouly. When Dexpot started immediately after the update, the locations of the icons on Desktop #1 were scrambled. When I invoked Settings --> Load profile to load the most recently saved profile th...

Re: Cursor warp? Cursor moves to middle of window, please s
That doesn't happen on my system. (Win7 Pro SP1 x64 with Dexpot beta 1.5.99 build 2003 -- which is available on the Dexpot home page.) Although it's a beta build, it's extremely stable. On my system the cursor always stays at the same relative position on the desktop when I switch between them. Migh...

This is a feature I would like to see, too: a different slideshow on each desktop. Currently Dexpot provides two backdrop options: 1. a different static desktop background image on each virtual desktop Dexpot Settings --> Switching Desktops --> Customize background checked 2. the same slideshow on a...

Re: DPI messing with Dexpot Full-screen Preview a bit
It could be that your browser is confused and is not actually downloading the updated version. Try clearing its cache. That sometimes will fix this type of problem, where it thinks it has already downloaded a file and provides the old copy instead of checking for a new copy.

Unfortunately, Win8 has its own uses for the corners of the screen
Hopefully some accommodation can be worked out, though.

Re: Desktop resolutions above monitor resolutions
Patrick, Some displays do not correctly report all of the available resolutions, especially some older CRTs, but some LCDs, too. Under XP, there's a checkbox in XP's display properties --> Settings tab --> Monitor tab which says "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" which one must ...

taskbar icon: open window not shown
Sorry: I don't have a log for this problem and was unable to reproduce it, which is frustrating. I am running Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 with Dexpot 1.5.99 build 1722 with separate Desktop folders. I had two Cygwin Bash terminal windows open but minimized. (They are shown in the taskbar with the same ico...

Re: Mouse hot corner for full screen preview
This option already exists.
Run Dexpot's "Settings" utility and select Controls in the left-hand column.
Then select the "Mouse Switch" tab and choose the values you want.

Re: Problem with icons
When manipulating icons on a Virtual Desktop, you need to use Dexpot's "Desktop Windows" utility. One way to remove an icon is to Select the appropriate Desktop in the "Desktop Windows" utility's left-hand menu, then its icon tab. Then right-click on the corresponding icon in the...

Re: Full screen problem
It depends on the game, the type of fullscreen mode it uses, and what keyboard shortcuts it has implemented. Although it's not a game, I've run Celestia (a 3D visualization program) in full screen mode (e.g. on Desktop #1) and used Dexpot's hotkeys (alt-2, etc.) to switch to other virtual Desktops. ...

Re: Dexgrid
I think the Dexgrid plugin needs some animation timing configuration options. When it is enabled, and I use the mouse buttons "previous" and "next" to switch screens (I have a 5 button mouse), the animation of the Desktop grid display is shown on the screen much too briefly to be...

Re: Dexpot NOT IN SYSTEM TRAY, no matter what I do
Nick, You don't mention which anti-virus scanner you used. Unfortunately, the modern malware plague is such that individual anti-virus products typically find only about 45% of them. You might want to consider trying the free scanners available the competition just to be sure. Comodo, Malwarebytes a...

Re: Rainmeter and Circle Dock Proposal
Sarge, I like the way it looks when the transition settings are all set to 1000 (1 second). However, while I've been playing with it this evening, I discovered that after working fine for a while, Dexpot would get into a state where it would do part of a transition, then freeze, and then jump to the...

Re: Rainmeter and Circle Dock Proposal
The video is off to a good start, but... you knew there must be a but in here somewhere, right? ;) 1. I noticed several typos in the text intro. e.g. the capitalization seemed random, and the plural of lady was mispelled. (it should be ladies). 2. I thought the expletives in the brief voiceover were...

For what it's worth, I've been using Desktop Restore to restore desktop icon positions when Dexpot is not running.
