That did the trick! With programs marked as ignored, they automatically appear on all desktops and are not included in the task list - perfect!

BTW, with Windows 7, I found that having mywechsel.ini in C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Dexpot\profile didn't work; it needs to be in C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Dexpot.

Thanks for all the help!
Tom

:dex:

Remove them from "Assign applications" and restart Dexpot.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Unfortunately, I must be missing something, as it's not working for me (I am on Windows 7). I created this mywechsel.ini:

Code: Select all

[Exe]
winamp.exe=ignore
TurboLaunch.exe=ignore

I placed it in:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dexpot
C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Dexpot
C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Dexpot\profile

Since I had created it with Notepad, I also tried changing the line terminators with Notepad++ to Unix style, and saved to all three locations. Still no luck; both TurboLaunch and Winamp show up on any desktop that I've switched to and done Windows-Q.

What am I missing?

Thanks
Tom

Don't know if this is exactly what you are after but check out this post http://dexpot.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1915.

If you use the ignore parameter it will do as you request but it will also remove the window entry from other things - course if it's on all desktops anyway it probably doesn't matter.

Sorry, I meant the Windows-Q list.

Eliminate programs from Alt-Q list

I use Winamp. When using Dexpot, one to four Winamp-related entries appear in every desktop in the Alt-Q task list, thereby obscuring the entries I'm really interested in.

Is there a way to prevent programs that are assigned to all desktops from appearing in this list?

Thanks for a great utility!
Tom
