:ok:

Still looks like a bug though. Application assignments are supposed to override the cross-desktop activation setting...

Hi Patrick,

I didn't see that option before. It was set to 'Copy window to current desktop'. I have now changed it to 'Switch to the respective desktop' and tested again. It works perfectly.

Thanks so much for your help.

What is the option "Behavior of windows on other desktops" under "Settings > Plugins and Extras" set to?

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the reply. I have enabled Application Assignment now as well. I did the same test. I opened an email on desktop 1 and clicked on a link. Chrome showed up on desktop 1 and then I see the Dexcube transition to desktop 2 with the link opening in a new tab. I switch back to desktop 1 and Chrome is there as well. I can move it back to desktop 2 and then I only have one instance.

So with both a desktop rule and an Application Assignment at the same time I still get 2 instances of Chrome.

Thanks

David

Desktop Rules only apply to newly opened windows. Try "Application Assignment" instead.

Dexcube and Desktop Rules

Post by dkirk » 16.05.2012 03:44:43

Hi,

I'm using Dexpot 1.5.99 build 1928 with the Dexcube plugin. I have a rule that will always move my Chrome browser to desktop 2. It doesn't work. I have my email on desktop 1 and if I click on a link it moves Chrome to the current desktop (1). No, change that. It copies it to desktop 1. Now I have Chrome on desktop 1 and 2. I can move Chrome back to desktop 2 and I'm back to a single copy of Chrome.

I've done some testing. I disabled Dexcube and clicked on a link in an email on desktop 1 and it successfully moves me to desktop 2 and opens the page in Chrome. I turn Dexcube back on again and re-test and I get a copy instead of moving.

Am I doing it wrong or is this a bug?

Thanks
