Windows defender says dexpot contains candy32 malware

Postby spadgas » 10.08.2020 08:28:24

It marked 5 or 6 files as containing the issue

I have the latest version (or at lease when I did check for updates it said I did).

As I've been using this on my PC for years, I'm not sure why it's started complaining about it now unless yesterdays update changed the detection.

Is there an issue here?

:dex:,

it's a false positive. Please provide your antivirus software details.

:dex:,

sorry, meant the following: detailed version info, e.g. engine version, antivirus definition.
It's a false positive if you downloaded the latest version from our website.

Sorry, is complaining about win32/CandyOpen in dexpot, dexpot64, dexcube and dexgrid

This is microsoft defender on windows 10, updated today - I'm not sure how to provide any more detail than that.

I'm pretty sure it's the latest dexpot. "about" says 1.6.12.2439, and check for updates says thats the newest version
