Re: Windows 10 and dexpot
Hi Guys,
I had this same thing happening however, I'm not convinced this is a dexpot bug, but rather a problem with windows itself. Reason being is while these appear to be ghost programs, the programs themselves are also actually running in the background and start up by themselves again should you close them. Disabling the windows superfetch service has solved it for me as I found this https://superuser.com/questions/958210/why-do-windows-10-foreground-apps-mysteriously-launch-as-background-processes.
These same programs would also appear as running in vista switcher (an alt-tab replacement program) complete with ghosted images for the windows (like dexpot), and finally they would show up when I used a custom show desktop script I made (does the same thing as win+d but only for the monitor currently containing the mouse for multi monitors), if I minimized all apps on the desktop containing these "ghosts" when I re-pressed the hotkey to bring back the windows, these would get shown with the gui's intact (i.e. they were always there just not visibly). If I closed them down they would disappear completely, for a while but would come back again (usually if I left my machine idle for a few minutes). They'll also show up as processes in task manager.
Anyway just thought the info might be helpful, like I said for me the culprit was the superfetch service (and for others too according to the above link)
