Debug: Create a crash dump

Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 (and server versions)

  • When the "[...] has stopped working" message appears, the component has crashed
  • Open your task manager

    • 32-bit operating system (x86):
      Right-click your taskbar, then select "Start Task Manager"

    • 64-bit operating system (x64):
      Press Win+R to open the "Run" dialog, enter the following line and click OK:

      Code: Select all

      %windir%\SysWOW64\taskmgr.exe
  • Change to tab 'Processes'
  • Right-click the list item (e.g. dexcube.exe) and select "Create Dump file"
  • Zip the dump file and email it to: info@dexpot.de (Or upload the file to a one-click hosting service and send us a link)

Windows XP/2003

  • Run "Dr. Watson for Windows" from 'Start > Run...':

    Code: Select all

    drwtsn32.exe

  • Choose a suitable Crash Dump File location
  • Enable 'Create Crash Dump file'
  • Click 'OK'
  • Let the crash happen
  • Zip the dump file and email it to: info@dexpot.de (Or upload the file to a one-click hosting service and send us a link)
