In Dexpot 1.6, the DexGrid animation displays on each monitor when switching. That works great, except for one thing--if the user has excluded any monitors from desktop switching, it seems like the animation should not display on those monitors, since nothing is actually changing there. It's a pretty small thing, but something that would be nice to have, now that Dexpot has all of this great new multiple monitor support.
Thanks, and keep up the good work! I just stumbled across Dexpot, and I think it's great--much better than VirtuaWin, which is what I'd been using before.
Dexgrid animations with multiple monitors
Re: Dexgrid animations with multiple monitors
You're right. But I can think of reasons to want the animation on excluded monitors as well. Maybe we'll turn it into an option.
By the way, there already is a hidden option to restrict the Dexgrid animation to a single monitor: Open the registry editor, go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dexpot\Plugins", set the value "Dexgrid.Monitor" to the number of the screen you'd like to have the animation on and restart Dexgrid.
Re: Dexgrid animations with multiple monitors
Aha, thanks for the tip. That will hold me over in the absence of some more elaborate solution.
Re: Dexgrid animations with multiple monitors
As a followup to my previous question, I noticed a couple other things that seem like they could benefit from being made aware of excluded monitors. Namely, Full-screen Preview and Window Catalogue both show blank screens for any monitor which has been excluded from desktop switching. Is there any reason to do that, or is it just an oversight? To me, it seems like they should both just continue showing the desktop's normal content on those monitors.
